Driving directions

Driving directions from Granada-airport to Casa Espalanda, Nigüelas.
Please note that if you use your navigation system you will enter Nigüealas at the other end of the village and the directions into the village will be useless.

	From the airport follow direction Granada.
	Turn right at the sign Granada, this brings you on the highway. DO NOT get on the highway, just keep driving on the right-hand lane.
	At the end of the right hand lane take exit 230 (Granada/Santa Fe/Sierra Nevada).
	Drive all the way down this road to Granada, when reaching Granada turn right in direction of Motril (A44).
	Follow this highway direction Motril until exit 157 (Nigüelas/Dúrcal).
	At the end of the exit take the roundabout in the direction of Dúrcal/Nigüelas
	Take the second roundabout 3/4 (follow the sign “polideportivo”) in the direction of Dúrcal (N323-A) (DO NOT go straight on in direction Dúrcal/Nigüelas).
	Follow the road, after a short time there is a cement sewerpipe factory on your right (*), after that on your left a furniture store “Alberto”.
	Almost directly after this there is a small sign “km 159”, start slowing down and prepare to leave the road to the right (after some 100 m) at the sign “via de servicio”.
	Immediately (after approx. 10 m.) turn right (“between” stone walls).
	Follow this road (approx. 2 km). On the way up you pass Bar Trueno and Restaurant Alqueria Los Lentos. After restaurant Los Lentos keep going up the road bending to the left until you reach the village Nigüelas.
	Park your car here, nearby the garbage containers.
	Walk uphill in Calle las Flores (the street next to the containers) and then the first street on your right (Calle los Rosales, no nameplate).
	Casa Espalanda is on number 10, the house with the yellow stripe.
	Welcome! (*) When you arrive in the dark and/or you are not up to it to drive the last part (without streetlights), you can also park your car in front of the cement sewer factory and call us. We will be there in 5 minutes and drive in front of you, to show you the way (tel: +34 958 777 751 / +34 617 207 469).

	On this highway follow direction Antequera (A45).
	Follow the signs Granada (E15/A7).
	Then follow the signs Cordoba/Granada/Sevilla (A45).
	On this highway take exit 139, direction Granada (A92 m).
	Just before Granada take exit 230 (Granada/Santa Fe/Sierra Nevada).
	Drive all the way down this road to Granada, when reaching Granada turn right in direction of Motril (A44).

Coastal route driving directions from Málaga-airport to Casa Espalanda, Nigüelas.

You can also take the beautiful route via the coast. Until Nerja it is highway, after Nerja it is a winding 2-lane road along the coast and through villages. This route is not to be recommended on Sunday afternoon (when drunk Spaniards drive home after Sunday lunch) or in the dark. This route is shorter in distance than the inland route but takes the same amount of time.
